John A. Berwald, Jr. age 71 passed away on July 9, 2024 at UPMC Hamot from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
John was born on February 21, 1953 in Ashtabula the son of John and Alice Mosier Berwald, Sr. He was a graduate of Ashtabula High School and was currently employed as a chemist at Zehrco-Giancola (Premix), where he worked for many years.
While we lost our beloved dad, many have lost a friend and a loved one. He has been a rock to many; smart, funny, witty, and even sarcastic. Even though he could be a glorious pain in the neck, once you were marked as important to him, he would be by your side and would do anything for you. There was so much more to him than just dad. He was a coworker, colleague, friend, animal lover, guitarist, and nature enthusiast. Most importantly, he was kind. A beautifully intricate person.
"Goodbyes are only for those who love with their eyes. Because for those who love with heart and soul, there is no such thing as separation."
He is survived by two daughters Carrie and Richard Weirick of Liberty, Ohio, and Shannon and Vince Paolucci of Cortland, Ohio, five grandchildren Sara, Maria, Annmarie, Callia and Nathan.
No services will be held. Memorial contributions in John's memory may be made to Camp Calaway, 5665 Dibble Road, Kingsville, Ohio 44048.
