John D. Specht

John D. Specht age 55, of Gates Mills, passed away unexpectedly, December 11, 2023, at his residence.

John was born on June 19, 1968, in Conneaut, the son of John W. and Margaret Maille Specht.  He was a 1986 graduate of Conneaut High School and went on to graduate from Case Western Reserve University in 1990 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. John worked for years at Stroud Engineering Services and was currently employed at Rockwell Automation as a software engineer and supervisor.

John was a longtime member of the Singer's Club of Cleveland and a former member of the Cleveland Orchestra Chorus. He also sang with the Case Men’s Glee Club. He loved to bake, cook, grill and barbeque. He was also a bibliophile (booklover) and audiophile of classical music. John recently traveled to Europe with the Singers Club and loved to sing and perform.

He was preceded in death by his father John W. Specht in 2011, nephew Matthew, and cat Mocha.

He is survived by his mother, Margaret Specht of Conneaut, a brother Andrew (Carrie) Specht of Rockcreek, a sister Lisa Specht of Conneaut, two nephews, David Specht, and Dylan Specht and his two cats, Luke and Leia.

Visitation will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.  Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, 369 West Main Rd (RT 20) Conneaut.
