Judith “Judy” D. Hedrick age 81, formerly of Conneaut, died Monday morning, February 1, 2021 at Summa Health Systems Akron City Campus Hospital.
Judy was born on July 23, 1939 in Conneaut the daughter of Louis and Tresa Anthony Colangelo. She was a 1957 graduate of Conneaut High School. Judy went to work for her Uncle Ben at Anthony’s Grocery Store on Chestnut Street and then at the Conneaut Leather Company. She later retired from Pat’s Fireside Pizza after over 20 years of service cooking in the kitchen.
Judy is a member of Corpus Christi Parish and moved to Akron to be closer to her children. Judy could always be found sitting on her front porch and working in the garden and canning the rewards from it. She also loved to read and taking care of her flowers.
She enjoyed going to Slo-Pitch for many years watching her late husband Blair Hedrick play for the Schlitz Softball team.
Judy was preceded in death by her mother Tresa Anthony Colangelo and her husband William Blair Hedrick.
She is survived by her two daughters, Lorie and Shawn Needham of Akron, Cherie and Damian Sedlock of Akron, two grandchildren Tyler Needham and Bryan Needham, her Aunt Charlotte White in Jacksonville, Florida and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 6, 2021 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home,581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, Ohio.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut with Fr. Phillip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
Memorial contribution in Judy’s memory can be made to Corpus Christi Parish or St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.
