Larry W. Moore, age 79 of Conneaut, died Friday, December 4, 2020 at UH Conneaut Medical Center.
Larry was born April 20, 1941 in New Lebanon, Ohio the son of Edgar and Myrtle (Jones) Moore. Larry entered the Unites States Army in 1964 during the Vietnam era and was honorably discharged in 1966 and served in the reserves until 1970.
Larry came to the Conneaut area with Emco Wheaton and worked there for 26 years as a machinist, and later a foreman until the plant moved. Larry enjoyed woodworking, fishing, hunting, camping, dancing, and singing. He was known as the “king” of the fish fries. He was a Cleveland sports enthusiast and NASCAR fan. He loved to spend time with his family and friends socializing and enjoying good food and company. Larry was a member of the American Legion, Conneaut Moose Lodge, the Eagles Lodge, Elks Club and the EAC of Ashtabula.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a sister Sharon Shanes.
Larry is survived by his wife Angela “Angie” Colucci Moore whom he married June 24, 1967 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, a son Larry S. (Kara DiPofi) Moore of Ashtabula, a daughter Kelly (Joseph) Morano of Chardon, four grandchildren, Jacob Moore, Grace, Sophia and Ava Morano, 3 step-grandchildren Jeannette Gurto, Jessica Miles and Jaclyn Perkins. He is also survived by sisters, Donna Needles of Waynesville, Ohio, Wanda Winters of Pickerington, Ohio, Jean Anderson of Las Vegas, Patricia (Gordon) Allen of Fairborn, Joanne (Fred) Pridemore of New Lebanon, brother, Steve Moore of New Mexico, and sister-in-law Stephanie (Charlie) Shields of Conneaut, along with several nieces and nephews.
Due to Covid-19 and the rising cases in the community, Larry’s family has made the difficult decision out of care and concern for the health of friends and family to have private funeral services. The services will take place on Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. and will be livestreamed from the Raisian Funeral Home Facebook page for those to view at home.
Burial will take place at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Route 20, N. Kingsville with the American Legion Honor Squad conducting full military honors.
A Celebration of Larry’s Life will take in 2021 when we can safely gather and will be announced by the Raisian Family Funeral Home, who is honored to serve Larry’s family.
