Lucille B. Guglielmo, beloved mother and grandmother, entered into eternal life on January 9, 2021, at the Villa at the Lake in Conneaut, Ohio. Lucille was born on April 1, 1929, to Carmen and Susan Rocco, Sr., in Ashtabula, Ohio. Lucille married Peter Guglielmo on July 9, 1949, at Mount Carmel Church. Following their marriage, Pete and Lucille resided in Conneaut, Ohio, until Pete’s death in 2015. Always the devoted wife, Lucille played Edith to Pete’s Archie Bunker for sixty-five years. Pete knew he had found the perfect wife when he married his beautiful bride. Lucille enjoyed music, dancing, walking and taking care of her family. Lucille was known for her hospitality. She invited all family, friends and strangers to her home for coffee and pastries. She greeted everyone with a smile. Lucille doted on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They knew Grandma would spoil them with their favorite treats. She will be deeply missed by her family. After her husband’s death, Lucille became a resident of the Villa at the Lake where she resided for six years. Lucy loved and was loved in return by the staff at the Villa. Lucy was a member of Corpus Christi Parish.
Lucille is survived by her two sons, John (Jane) Guglielmo and Charles (Patricia) Guglielmo both of Conneaut. Her grandchildren: Desiree (Steve) Andrews of Tennessee, Jaime (Mike) McCue of Brecksville, Ohio, Julie (Thom) Young of Conneaut, Renee Bryant of Kingsville, Ohio, Paul (Ryann) Guglielmo of Rochester, New York, David Guglielmo of Ashtabula, Brandon Parker of Ashtabula, and Kayla Parker of Mentor, Ohio. Great grandchildren: Jalin, Brandon, Jr., Noah, Gabriella, and Josephine Parker, Leo Guglielmo, Remi McCue, and Jonathan Nelson, Lucille is also survived by her sister, Rose Detore of Ashtabula. She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter, Mary Jo Rowe in 2007, her husband in 2015, and brother, Carmen Rocco, Jr. in 2020.
A private burial will be held at St. Joseph Cemetery with the Reverend Raymond Thomas, officiating on Thursday, January 14, 2021. Due to Covid-19, a Mass of Remembrance and celebration of Lucille’s life will be held in the summer of 2021. The family would like to thank the staff of the Villa at the Lake for their impeccable care of Lucy during her six years of residence. Also, a debt of gratitude is extended to Hospice of the Western Reserve for their care of Lucille for the past three years and the excellent care given to her in the past few weeks.
