Margaret B. “Bunny” Thayer age 90 died Friday, February 21, 2020 at UPMC Hamot Medical Center.
Bunny was born on July 6, 1929 in Conneaut the daughter of Hugh E. and Bernadine (Mahoney) Burns. She was a 1947 graduate of Conneaut High School and after finishing school she married her first husband, Walter Thayer, on June 7, 1947.
Bunny worked as a real estate agent for Wes Ticknor and went on to become a broker, buying the agency and operating as Bunny Thayer Realty until her retirement.
Bunny married her second husband, Cecil Thayer on December 24, 2007.
She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Women of the Moose Lodge 472, The Red Hat Ladies of the Lake and the Irish Colleens. Bunny was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and the Federated Church. She loved golfing in her younger years, living on the lakefront and spending time with friends and family, especially her grandchildren.
Bunny is survived by her daughters Christine Naylor (Robert) of Conneaut and Nancy Palermo, and son Michael Thayer (Diane) of Charlotte, NC. Surviving grandchildren are: Nancy Chadwick, Tarry Bates, Jill Kauffman, Jonathan Naylor, and Christa Seese; Julie Peskir, Alan Thayer and Laura Bartscher; Eric Angelo, Amanda Angelo, and Brittany Palmero; and 27 great-grandchildren.
Bunny was preceded in death by her parents, first husband Walter Thayer and second husband Cecil Thayer.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 23, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Raisian Family Funeral Home with Pastor Ed Huntley of Federated Church and Father Raymond Thomas of Our Lady of Peace Parish officiating.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Conneaut Food Pantry, 327 Mill Street, Conneaut. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
