MaryAnn Rood

          MaryAnn Rood age 86 of Conneaut died Tuesday, April 28, 2020 at Saybrook Landing where she had been a resident for the past several months.

          MaryAnn was born on January 18, 1934 in Conneaut the daughter of Louis and Carmella (Palumbo) Gustaferro.  She was a 1952 graduate of Conneaut High School.  She went on to work at the Astatic Corp in the needles and cartridge department for over 27 years. 

          MaryAnn was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Conneaut Moose Lodge, Cara Mia Club and the retired Astatic members.  She enjoyed cooking Italian food and gardening.  She loved spending time with friends and family, especially with her granddaughter and her two great grandchildren.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, son Roland Rood, sisters Linda and James Reinhart, Vivian and Edward Moroski and Nancy and Don Rawlings.

          MaryAnn is survived her husband Duane A. Rood, whom she married July 5, 1952, daughter Bonnie and Louis Todaro of Conneaut, granddaughter Michelle and Jason Walker of Columbus, great grandchildren Olivia and Jackson of Columbus, nephews Roland Newman, who grew up at MaryAnn and Duane’s home, Paul Newman, also several other nieces and nephews. 

          Private services will be held for MaryAnn, with Deacon Nicholas Iarocci officiating.  Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, N. Kingsville.

          Memorial contributions may be made to the Conneaut Food Pantry.  Envelopes are available at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St., Conneaut where arrangements have been entrusted.
