Norma Lee Peterson-Tyler age 85 died October 4, 2021 in Riverside Hospital, Columbus,Ohio.
The world is a little less bright, as the beloved light in the heart of our family, has gone into the light of Heaven.
Born Norma Lee Peterson, she was born on May 26, 1936 in Albion PA, and was raised in Conneaut, Ohio.
Graduating in 1954, from Conneaut High School, she then attended Carnegie Institute in Cleveland Ohio, where she graduated as Medical Lab Technician, and worked in a doctor’s office.
In 1957 she married Ralph Hawkins, and worked with him, as both an EMT and Office Manager for their Erie Ambulance Service, in Erie Pa.
In 1960 they moved to El Paso, TX, where she helped build El Paso Ambulance Service, the first Ambulance Service in Texas, where she also become a mother to her daughters while living there.
In 1967 she moved to Ashtabula Ohio, and opened Hawkins Ambulance Service with Ralph, where she worked as the Office Manager.
Starting in 1974 to 2003, she worked as a Lab Technician and Office Manager for various doctors. The longest and most recent being Dr. Yoder’s office in Westerville Ohio.
She was married to Glenn Keith Hawkins from 1974 to 1982. She married her late husband Hal Cobb Tyler in 2004.
Norma is preceded in death by her late husband Hal C. Tyler, her father LeVern Peterson, her mother Elizabeth Gildone, and sister Sandra Loveall.
She is survived by her two daughters Nancy Lynn Teter, and Rebecca Fawn Hawkins. She has three surviving grandchildren, Travis Dean Teter & Angie Frasier, Tyler Lee & Janae Teter, and Katlyn Rebecca Knierim & Lorenzo Law, great grandchildren, Chelsea Teter, Braylon, Brianna, and Aribella Teter, and Jayden and Evyn Law, the loves of her life, and two brothers Pete Peterson and John Martin.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, October 9, 2021 from 11:30 a.m. until the time of services at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 9, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Kraus officiating.
Burial will follow at East Conneaut Cemetery, Furnace Road, Conneaut.
