Norman A. “Red” Black, Jr. age 70 died Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Ames Family Hospice House, Westlake, Ohio.
Norm was born on January 21, 1951 in Ashtabula the son of Norman and Helen Hreha Black, Sr. He was a 1969 graduate of Saint John High School. Norm was a very proud graduate of The Ohio State University Class of 1973, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism. While attending OSU, Norm served as the football Manager from 1969 to 1972 under Woody Hayes’ coaching staff.
He later went on to work in the Columbus area for many years as a hotel and restaurant manager and general manager. Norm returned to Conneaut later in his life to look after and care for his mother.
Norm was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and served as a volunteer for various events and functions at church.
Norm was preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his sons Jeremy C. Black of Toledo and Jason Black, brothers Robert (Danielle) Black of Bay Village and Jack Black of Cincinnati, two grandchildren Paige Black and Natalie Black, six nieces and nephews and ten great nieces and nephews.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 4, 2021 at St. Frances Cabrini Church with Father Philip Miller officiating. Burial will take place at the convenience of the family at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut. Masks and social distancing will be required at church.
The Mass will be LIVESTREAMED at the Raisian Family Funeral Home Facebook page for those who wish to view it.
