Onalee Atrozskin Obituary

Onalee J. Atrozskin, age 81 formerly of Beaver Township, died January 10, 2019 at her grandson’s residence in Garfield Heights, Ohio.

Onalee was born on August 10, 1937 in Peoria Illinois, the daughter of William and Marie (Harrison) Turner. Onalee married the love of her life, Lawrence Joseph Atrozskin on December 27, 1952 and began to raise their family at their farm in Beaver township.  She drove school bus for Wallace Hyde Bus Co. for 25 years and was the owner/operator of the family greenhouse.  Onalee was well-known for playing the old steam organ known as  “Calliope” at Stoneboro Fair for several years.

Onalee attended St. Peter’s Church in Conneautville and St. Frances Cabrini Church in Conneaut, where she volunteered her time making donuts, fried dough, fish dinners and helping the Oblate Sisters.  She was former member of the C.D. of A. and the Beaver Center Community Club.  Onalee was member of the International Poets and received an award for Outstanding Achievement in poetry.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son Robert G. Atrozskin, grandchildren Daniel Atrozskin, Brian Joseph Ball, and Heather Marie Weaver, a brother William Turner, Jr. and sister Lavone Turner.

Onalee is survived by her husband Lawrence Joseph Atrozskin, sons Larry J. Atrozskin, Jr. of Wisconsin, James B. Atrozskin of Florida, daughters Patricia Ball Dillen of Beaver Township, Kathleen Weaver of Florida, Claudia and Don Swonger of Mississippi, Susanne and Lee Riley of South Carolina, brother Ronald J. Turner of Plymouth Township, sister Anna Marie Posey of Texas, 24 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 18, 2019 at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St., Conneaut with Father Philip Miller of Corpus Christi Parish, Father A. Edward Gretchko of St. Mary Massillon and Fr. David Brindle of Our Lady of Peace concelebrating. 

Burial will take place at the convenience of the family.
