Paul C. Specht, 87, of Conneaut, passed away Sunday, January 27, 2024 with his family by his side. He was the son of Francis and Marian (Nickles) Specht.
Paul was a Conneaut High School graduate of the class of ’54. He spent many years working as a Stationary Engineer for a company currently known as Duke Energy. Additionally, Paul was also the owner/operator of Specht Siding Contractors.
Paul loved outdoor activities. He enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson and boating on Lake Erie. He was an avid scuba diver and a member of the Fire Department Station No.3 dive team. During winter, he loved to snowmobile and was a member and President of the Trail Busters Snowmobile Club.
A handyman at heart, he could fix just about anything and always sought out the latest and greatest tools for the job. He loved woodworking and had a passion for model railroading and scale models in general.
Paul was proceeded in death by his parents, a son Paul C. Specht, Jr., brothers Gerald Specht, Robert Specht, Richard Specht, sisters Christine Ingersoll and Kathryn Sackett and a stepdaughter Lori DeGeorge.
He was survived by his wife Joyce Lehto Specht, sons Jeffrey (Debra) Specht of Texas, Trevor (Gayle) Specht of Washington, D.C., Travis (Giovanna) Specht of Waldwick, NJ, stepson Kyle (Sandy) Miller of Valley City, OH, son-in-law Mark DeGeorge of Kingsville, and daughter-in-law Rosalie Specht of Painesville, sisters Marion McKinley, and Susan McDonald both of Conneaut, grandchildren, Olivia, Andrea, Christy, Felicia, Avery, Grant, Casper, Matthew, Sarah, Kennedy, Claire, Ashley, Kevin, Connor, and Kayla, six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. At the family’s request, no services will be held. Any donations can be made to the Conneaut Fire Department.
The Raisian Funeral Home has been entrusted with the care of Paul.
