Richard L. Luce, Sr.

Richard L. Luce Sr., age 80, of Conneaut, passed away on December 13, 2024, at the Ashtabula County Medical Center.

Richard was born in Conneaut on April 16, 1944, the son of Herbert “Bill” and Catherine Onion Luce. Following school he served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War until he was honorably discharged.  Richard later retired from Elkem Metals as an electrician after 32 years. 

He was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post 151, the Springfield VFW, and enjoyed bowling in various men’s leagues.

He is survived by three sons, Richard Luce, Jr., of Conneaut, Russell Luce of Conneaut and Randy and Stephanie Luce of Texas, brother Bruce Kamppi of Conneaut, sister Carol and Henry Eshleman of Columbus, along with several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Mary Ann Kamppi Luce, and son Ron Luce.

Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2024 at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Route 20, N. Kingsville, Ohio.
