Robert Bartone Obituary

Robert N. Bartone age 77 passed away on January 20, 2025, at Lake Pointe Rehabilitation & Nursing Home.

Bob was born on July 18, 1947, in Conneaut, the son of Fiory and Patricia Joslin Bartone.  He was a 1965 graduate of Conneaut High School and attended Muskingum College.  He worked for over 20 years at the P & C Dock Company as a Clerk. 

He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, a past member of the Conneaut Optimist Club and the CHS Academic and Band Boosters. Bob loved working with his hands. He was a member of the High-Iron Company which rebuilt steam engines and then ran steam excursions in the eastern United States. He was also part of the team that rebuilt the # 759 Nickle Plate Engine at the Conneaut Railroad Museum. He flew control line model airplanes and collected antique model airplane engines. Bob was an avid reader and loved to visit railroad museums all over the country.

He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant son Craig Ian Bartone in 1984 and son Patrick Bartone in 2024.

Bob is survived by his wife Gloria Hammett Bartone, whom he married March 25, 1973, son Chris and Michelle Bartone, daughters Kimberly and Thad Henson and Jocely and Zack Martz, daughter in law Ashley Bartone and four grandchildren Charlotte, Lucy, Tyler and Kaylee.

As per Bob’s wishes, no services will be held.  The burial of Bob’s ashes will be held at the convenience of the family at East Springfield Cemetery.
