Robert J. Fields

Robert James Fields, better known by those who loved him as “Bones”, passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 70 after a very brief illness.

Born on May 18, 1955, in Conneaut Ohio to Robert G. and Agnes Fields, Bobby lived life on his own terms- loud, loyal, and full of grit. He had a lifelong passion for motorcycles and antique cars. His expertise for chrome plating set him apart in the field, he turned metal into mirrors. He never met a dog he didn’t like, and he made sure everyone heard about his own pups and his treasured “grand-dogs.”

Bones was known for his crude sense of humor, quick wit, and ability to make just about anyone laugh (or groan). But beneath that rough exterior was a heart of gold, he would give you the shirt off his back.

He is survived by his two daughters, Kayla Fields of Jefferson, Ariel Bartlett and his beloved son in-law Alex Bartlett of Wattsburg, PA, two grandchildren, Tanner and Alivia Bartlett, who brought him so much joy as he watched them grow and his many 'grand-dogs,' all of whom he adored.

Bobby is also survived by his sister, Julie (Jeff) Myers, brothers Kenny (Brenda) Fields and Tim (Karen) Fields, former wife and mother of his children, Cindy Brewster, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents Aggie and Robert G., brother Doug Fields and his loyal dogs and sidekicks, Monroe and Penny, affectionately known as “Uddy Roe” and “Penn Duck”.

His presence, laughter and stories will be missed more than words can say.

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 9 at 11:00 a.m. at the Raisian Funeral Home.

Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens, Route 20, N. Kingsville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Buckeye Australian Cattle Dog Rescue.
