Sharoyn "Sherry" L. Vignal

          Sharoyn L. “Sherry” Vignal age 81 passed away on Wednesday, July 31, 2024, at the Ashtabula County Nursing Home after a brief illness.

          Sherry was born on January 19, 1943, in Erie, PA the daughter of Jack G. and Ruth Vontrepton Baker, Sr.  She graduated from Conneaut High School.  She married her late husband, Jack on January 1, 1960.  Sherry worked at Conneaut Die Cast for 19 years and had a ceramic shop at her house for many years.  In 1988, she opened Port Conneaut Florist with the first location in the Conneaut harbor and later in downtown Conneaut for 21 years. 

          Sherry was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and the Conneaut Optimist Club.  She enjoyed going to casinos, golfing, and flowers.  She especially loved the time she spent caring for her children and family.

          She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Jack Vignal in 2017, and brother Jack G. Butler, Jr.

          Sherry is survived by her sons John “Jacki” Vignal of Conneaut and James Vignal of New York, NY, and a brother Harry Baker of Conneaut.

          Private family services will be held, and burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.

          Contributions may be made to Ashtabula County Animal Protective League, 5970 Green Rd, Ashtabula, Ohio 44004 in Sherry’s memory.

          Arrangements have been entrusted to the Raisian Funeral Home.
