Shirley M. Rose

Shirley M. Rose, age 95, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025, at Ashtabula County Medical Center, with her family surrounded by her side.

Shirley was disposed the nicknames “Tiny and Daisy” be her sons, Ronnie and Donnie. She was an avid golfer and accomplished gambler at Presque Isle in Erie. Shirley received a hole-in-one from Windy Hills Golf Course and a trophy in 1992.

Shirley graduated and married her high school sweetheart Charles Rose. They soon started a family that would include her three sons, Donald, Ronald, and Chuck. She was an eticious member of Corpus Christi Parish (St. Frances Cabrini) Church.

Shirley entertained working at the church festivals, fish dinners during lent, bingo and a CCD instructor. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of Americas and member of the Conneaut Moose Lodge. Shirley was employed at the Creamery, Lawsons, and Hercules Packing. She adored working with her flowers in the summer and shopping at the mall.

Because of her illness during the last ten years, Shirley could not be in public and missed her friends and gambling partners. Shirley would like for the Conneaut community to think of her as sometime when they were on the links and frequented Presque Isle to stop for her favorite sandwich the impossible Hamburg. Shirley was not for words, in lieu of this she shared her life through consistency and child-like expressions. Shirley always adepted her kindness and was in her own nature as normal to her breathing.  When she turned around in the sand at the beach, she heard a whisper: “My precious child, I love you and I will never leave, never, never always during your trials and sickness.  When she turned around and saw only one set of footprints, it was then that I called her home with me.”

Shirley was preceded in death by her loving husband Chuck in November 2011, sisters Marie Sabo, Marilouise Warren and a brother Jack Vignal, along with parents Nick and Bertha Vignal.

She is survived by her sons, Donald, Ronald, and Charles A. Rose, all of Conneaut.

Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Thursday, January 16, 2025 at Corpus Chrisi Parish, 744 Mill St, Conneaut.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut.
