Susan Griswold Obituary

Susan M. Griswold, age 62, of Conneaut, Ohio, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, July 20, 2026, at Country Club Retirement in Ashtabula.

Susan was born on December 7, 1963 in Union, West Virginia, the daughter of Jim and Violet (Runyan) Walkup.  She was a 1982 graduate of Jefferson High School and spent many years working in the Administration Office at CSP and later working as a cafeteria worker for University Hospitals, where she enjoyed serving others and formed many lasting friendships.

Susan found great joy in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  She enjoyed attending concerts and live theater performances, cheering on her grandchildren, nieces and nephews at their sporting events.  She had a generous heart and was deeply committed to helping others.  Each year, she dedicated countless hours to baking for the annual fundraiser benefiting the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation, using her talents to support children and families affected by cancer.  Her passion for giving back and her unwavering support for cancer research and patients reflected the compassion and kindness that defined her life.  Her greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those she loved.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Susan is survived by her four loving children, Bradley (Susan) Foltz, Jr. of Hilliard, OH, Alex Griswold of Willoughby, Dillon Griswold of North Kingsville, Phoebe Griswold of Conneaut, four brothers, Steve Walkup of New Orleans, James Walkup of Ashtabula, William (Darla) Walkup of Missouri, Russel (Marina) Walkup of Ashtabula, five sisters, Camella (Gerhart) Fitz of Georgia, Erica (Tommy) Fix of North Kingsville, Annie Daniels of Georgia, Carla (Gwangsun) Jang of Georgia, Tammy Foltz of Ashtabula and two grandchildren, Alex Griswold and Ruby Foltz.

Susan will be remembered for her kind heart, generous spirit, and the unconditional love she shared with her family.  Her memory will forever be cherished by all who knew and loved her.
