Theodore J. “Ted” Grubke, passed away on Sunday, August 13, 2023, at his residence surrounded by his family.
Ted was born on July 11, 1943, in Conneaut, the son of Theodore and Zenobia Komorowski Grubke. Following graduation from Rowe High School, Ted enlisted in the United States Marine Corps in 1961. He served his country and retired honorably as a Master Sergeant in 1981. Ted’s duty service included three years at the White House under President Carter aboard Marine One, he served as Drill Instructor at candidate school, four years as a Marine Recruiter in Pittsburgh and four years as aviation and supply training Marines.
Following his time in the United States Marine Corp, Ted worked for 27 years at the Erie Bearings Company as a store manager in Meadville specializing in Inventory Control and Purchasing until he retired in 2008.
Ted was a member of Corpus Christi Parish, where he was currently in charge of the bookkeeping and records for St. Joseph Cemetery. Ted enjoyed fixing problems and keeping the books perfect. He cherished his family and friends and especially loved and adored his grandchildren.
Ted was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Delores Marker, and a stepson Shawn Clough.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy L. Gibson Grubke, whom he married March 17, 1979, son Theodore R. (Angela) Grubke of Corinth, TX, daughter Traci (Robert) Canaday of Concord, N.C., brother Richard (Jodi) Grubke of Conneaut, sister Kathleen Francis of Wampum, Pa., stepson David (Kerri) Clough of Columbus, stepdaughters Natalie Clough, Zanesville, OH, Allison (Oscar) Clough, all of Orlando, Fla., Keysha Clough of Conneaut, grandchildren, Lauren, Ethan, Tyler, Joshua, Garrett, Bradley, Tabitha, Bridget, Deven and Savanna and five great-grandchildren.
Mass of the Christian burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 18, 2023, at St. Frances Cabrini Church, 744 Mill St, Conneaut with Fr. Raymond Thomas officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Conneaut with full military honors.
Memorial donation in Ted’s memory can be made to St. Joseph Cemetery Memorial Fund, Corpus Christi Parish, 744 Mill Street, Conneaut, Ohio 44030. Envelopes will also be available at Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor St, Conneaut.
