Thomas I. “Tink” Jury Jr., age 86 of Conneaut, passed away on December 4, 2023, at UH Hospital Conneaut
Tink was born on September 28, 1937, in Clearfield, Pa., the son of Thomas and Mildred Young Jury. He was a graduate of Conneaut High School and went on to work at the Conneaut Phone Company. In 1957 he enlisted in the United States Army, where he served his country proudly until he was honorably discharged in 1960. While stationed in Germany he was on the rifle and pistol team. He returned to Conneaut and worked at the former Allied Resinous, and later retired from DuPont Company in Ashtabula.
Tink was a member of the American Legion Cowle Post 151, Conneaut Moose Lodge, a lifetime member of the LEBC, life member of Conneaut Fish & Game Club, a life member of the National Rifle Association and a member of the Mosquito Creek Sportsman Club.
Tink loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating, deer hunting in Clearfield County and walking his dogs Lady Dog and Darby. He cherished his grandparents, family and friends.
Tink was preceded in death by his parents, grandson Michael Joseph Jury, brothers Robert “Red” Jury, William Jury, Kenneth Jury, and a nephew Joseph Jury.
He is survived by his wife, Janice K. (Currier) Jury, whom he married June 11, 1966, in Ripley, NY, son Kevin (Lori) Jury, daughters Tammy Jury and Melissa Jury (Pat Boster) all of Conneaut, grandchildren Steve Richards, Katie Richards and Mathew Jury, brother Dave (Shelia) Jury of Conneaut and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at the Raisian Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street and will conclude at 3:00 p.m. with a prayer service followed by the American Legion Honor Squad presenting full military honors.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Tink’s memory to his family. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
