Edward E. Fedor – age 87, of Conneaut, Ohio, died Thursday, February 6, 2014, at the Country Club Retirement Center, Ashtabula, Ohio.
He was born October 29, 1926, in Monroe Township, Ohio; he was the son of the late John and Anna (Emery) Fedor.
Mr. Fedor was a Veteran of the United States Army and also a member of the National Guard. He attended Conneaut High School and in 1968, with his brother Ernest Fedor, he owned and operated Fedor Sand & Gravel. He later worked at Horton Vault and finally at R.W. Sidley until retirement.
He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Conneaut and enjoyed woodworking, square dancing, gardening, camping, playing the accordion, traveling, and spending time with his family. He always found joy in joking and story telling.
Survivors include his son, Douglas E. Fedor of Conneaut; his step-daughters, Karen A.(Jerry) Benson, Fay M. (Alan) Alderman, and Barbara L. (BJ) Higgins; his grandchildren, Cassie (Steven) Eaton; Stacey (David) Willging, Angela Benson, Christy (Rafael) Cancel, Matthew, Nicole, and Ashley Alderman, and Jerry (Maria) Higgins; many great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and more distant relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Elva M. Fedor, whom he married in 1975; his sister, Julia Bellas; and brothers, John, Joe, William, Steve, Charles, Paul, Frank, Ernest, and Jim Fedor.
Friends may call Wednesday, February 12, 2014 from 11 a.m. until time of Service, at the RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, February 12, at RAISIAN FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, with Pastor Joyce Shellhammer, of First Congregational United Church of Christ, officiating.
Burial will follow in Glenwood Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut, where the American Legion Honor Squad will conduct military honors.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Memorial Fund of First Congregational United Church of Christ. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
