Katherine Gildone, age 99, of Conneaut, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014 at Hospice of the Western Reserve in Cleveland, Ohio.

Katherine was born on May 14, 1915 in Conneaut, Ohio the daughter of the late Charles and Caroline (Rosse) Mundy. She graduated from St. Mary Catholic School and went on to work as a seamstress and floor supervisor at the former Goldette Factory. On September 28, 1935, Katherine married the late Salvadore Gildone at St. Mary Church.

Her favorite hobbies were refinishing antique furniture and taking care of her garden and home. Katherine enjoyed spending time with family and hosting holiday dinners. She was also a lifelong member of Corpus Christi Parish and attended regular Mass at both St. Mary and St. Frances Cabrini Church.

Katherine was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Salvadore, a sister, Carmel, brothers, John, Anthony, Louis, Michael, Frank, and an infant brother.

Katherine is survived by her daughter, Sara (fiancAC., Gary Meyers), granddaughters, Catherine (Steve) Ohocinski, Kelly (Jim) Hesse, and Christine Ohocinski, great grandchildren, Stephen, Christopher, Shad, Jimmy, Kyle and Sara, several loving nieces, nephews and many caring friends.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Raisian Family Funeral Home, 581 Harbor Street, Conneaut, Ohio.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at St. Mary Church, 480 State Street, Conneaut, with Father Phillip Miller officiating.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Route 20, Conneaut.

Memorial contributions may be made to Corpus Christi Parish or Hospice of the Western Reserve. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
