Phillip West was known to me by Butch. His father was my mother's uncle so it made him my 1st cousin I believe. What I knew of him was he was very kind and never mean. Our age difference of his 8 years as my senior, really didn't allow us to hang out. I did chum around a lot with his youngest sister who was my age so that is how I mainly remember Butch. I did get the opportunity to talk with him when he came back to Wisconsin to attend his father's funeral. I knew he was not well but he still seemed jovial and happy with his life. In his obituary I was proud to read he served our country and it didn't surprise me to read it. Life takes such funny turns and often we miss out on knowing certain things. Well, I missed out on knowing Butch more as did many of his family. But, I have faith we will meet again. God Speed Cousin Butch! Nancy Bruns

Thank you Nancy for taking the time to honor my father. My dad was such a good looking young man. He was always looking at life as half full never empty.

Phil "Butch" West and his family lived across the street from my family through the 1950s and the first half of the 1960s. His beautiful mother left us at a young age due to cancer, leaving Butch's father Harold "Babe" West to raise Butch, his brother Jim and sisters Patsy and Wendy. Butch was a handsome young man and a hard worker. He was one of the older "kids" in our working class neighborhood and we looked up to him. May God bless him and accept Butch into His Heavenly kingdom, to join his parents and sister Wendy. ~ "Jimmy" Herrick, Kropf Avenue neighbor
